Day #6

Literacy: Every Child, Every Adult

Today we look at the third of four ways you can play an essential role in the Bonding With Children Foundation support community. We already looked at Getting Involved as a Prayer Partner or Volunteer. We explored Investing in Our Mission by making a DONATION. Today we will look at Launching the Next Generation.

Launching the Next Generation

I remember, in 1969 as a 12-year-old kid, watching the launch of the Saturn V rocket that would take the crew of Apollo 11 to the moon.

10, 9, 8

We have ignition

7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1

We have liftoff

Seeing that rocket emerge from the ball of fire generated by the five massive booster engines at the bottom of S-IC stage-one, made the imagination of this kid SOAR.

What must it have felt like to be on top of that rocket?
---
What did those astronauts see?
---
How would it feel to be the first human to actually walk on the moon's surface?

Several days later I returned to that black-and-white TV and watched Neil Armstrong descend from the lunar module, place his feet on the moon's surface and say, "That's one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind."

I can still feel my heart pounding with excitement in my chest.

We did it! We did it!
We actually sent a man to the moon!

Every rocket that has launched from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, has had one very important thing in common with all the others. They have all required a launch pad. Without a launch pad there could be no launch. The same is true for the next generation of supporters for the Bonding With Children Foundation.

Today's Launch Pad: Ground $0.00

Today, the Bonding With Children Foundation starts every fundraising year back at $0. None of the funds they raise jumpstart them for future years. What ever is needed for the current year must be raised in that year.

But what if it could be different. What if their was a way to raise funds that would always start them off in future years with something more than $0. There is. It's called endowment giving.

Tomorrow's Launch Pad: Unlimited

Endowment giving is like giving to a lifetime savings account. The money that is given to the account earns investment income each year. That investment income is paid to the ministry at the start of each new year.

If we raised $5,000 each year and the endowment account generated an additional $1,000 of investment income, we would start at $6,000 instead of $5,000 If donors continued to give to the endowment account, eventually it would generate $2,000, $3,000, etc.

Because donors gave small amounts over the past 170 years to the endowment account of a nonprofit I know about, they start each year with more than $400,000 in investment income year, after year, after year. That is one amazing launch pad.

If we start now to make endowment giving a part of the fundraising strategy for the Bonding With Children Foundation one day a future generation of ministry leaders could also be starting out with $100,000 or more of investment income ... EVERY YEAR

Now that is what I call a LAUNCH!

How about YOU? Are you ready to launch a conversation about how you can start making an endowment gift that will Launch the Next Generation? If so, click the button below.
